LED vs laser
LED caps, laser caps and the hair growth question
Low-level light therapy for the scalp uses red light at roughly 630 to 680 nm, delivered by either laser diodes or LEDs sewn into a cap. Laser caps (the "laser cap for hair growth" search) use a few dozen to a few hundred laser diodes; LED caps use hundreds of LEDs spread across the liner. Lasers are collimated and sit at a higher price; LEDs spread the same wavelengths more evenly at lower cost. The three caps here are LED devices.
Research on scalp photobiomodulation uses consistent sessions over months, typically 10 to 25 minutes several times a week, with results judged at 16 to 26 weeks. The caps here are sold for scalp coverage and daily use; they are not medical devices and we make no regrowth claims for them. For the research side, see our blog.
