The technology
How a HIEMT machine works
A HIEMT applicator contains a coil that generates a rapidly changing magnetic field. The field passes through skin and fat without heating them and induces electrical currents in the motor neurons underneath, which fire the muscle. Because the stimulus bypasses the brain's limits on voluntary effort, the contractions are supramaximal: stronger and far more frequent than a workout can produce. A 30-minute session delivers 20,000 to 36,000 contractions, and the muscle responds the way it does to intense training, with growth in fiber size and density over a course of sessions. Adjacent fat is also reduced in the treated area.
What Tesla means
Tesla is the peak strength of the magnetic field. The consoles here run 13 Tesla (DB10, DB20) to 15 Tesla (FE80). Higher field strength reaches deeper muscle and lets the operator treat larger clients at effective intensity, but the quoted figure depends on how the manufacturer measures it (at the coil surface vs at depth), so compare machines from the same source rather than across brands. Watts are not Tesla: the 5,000 W figure on the DB10 and FE80 is the RF output, not the magnetic field.
HIEMT with RF
Most consoles pair the magnetic coil with radiofrequency heating in the same applicator. RF warms the muscle for a more comfortable, stronger contraction and firms the skin over the treated area. The FE60, FE80, DB10, DB20 and the Shape Tactics system all combine the two; the FE90 is the portable EMS and RF option.
HIEMT vs pad EMS
Pad-based EMS runs current through electrodes stuck to the skin and is limited by skin discomfort. HIEMT needs no pads, no gel and no skin contact beyond the applicator strap, and reaches intensities pad EMS cannot. Every Winkonlaser system in this collection is a HIEMT platform; EMS training suits and pad devices are a different category covered in the EMS machines collection.
