The technologies
Types of cryotherapy machines
"Cryotherapy" covers several unrelated uses of cold. Knowing which one you mean saves a lot of comparison time.
Cryolipolysis (fat freezing)
A vacuum applicator draws a fold of tissue against cooling plates and holds it at a controlled low temperature (down to -16 C on the HS1000A) for 30 to 60 minutes. Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than skin, so they are damaged and cleared by the body over the following weeks while the skin recovers. This is the technology behind the best known branded fat-freezing treatment, and the HS1000A and HS1000C are professional cryolipolysis consoles for clinics.
Localized cold therapy
Cold applied to a joint or muscle to reduce swelling and discomfort after exercise or activity. The Cryo2O cold therapy system is a reusable wearable cold pack for home use. Clinical cold therapy units with circulating ice water for post-surgical recovery are a separate category that we do not stock.
At-home cold contouring
Wearable cold belts such as the Cryo2O Sculpt apply cold to the abdomen or thighs in regular home sessions. They operate at far lower intensity than a clinic cryolipolysis console, with no vacuum and no controlled temperature, so they are a consistency-based routine rather than a clinical treatment.
Whole-body cryotherapy
Chambers that expose the body to -110 C or colder vapor for two to three minutes. These are a different product category (and price range) and are not sold here.
