How it works
Airbags, cycles and zones
An air compression massager is a fabric wrap lined with airbags (air chambers). A controller pumps air into the chambers and releases it in a timed cycle, so the wrap squeezes and lets go around the leg. Programs change the order and rhythm in which the chambers fill; intensity levels change how firmly they fill. There are no rollers or moving parts against the skin, which is the difference from a kneading or shiatsu massager.
The zone is set by the shape of the wrap:
- Foot and calf (LX1). One piece from the foot through the calf. You sit on a couch or chair with your legs out while it runs.
- Knee (LX4). A wrap around the knee that reverses to cover the knee plus the calf, or the knee plus the thigh. Adds heat and optional vibration.
- Full leg (LX10). Wraps that run from the feet to the thighs, the largest coverage of the three.
Lunix does not publish chamber counts or pressure figures in mmHg on these listings; ask us if you need them.
