What 400 to 450 nm filtration means
Blue light from screens and LED lighting peaks around 450 nm. Lenses that filter 400 to 450 nm cut the band most associated with evening alertness and screen strain while leaving most visible color intact. Clear or lightly tinted lenses filter a portion of that band for daytime work; amber and red lenses filter nearly all of it for the hours before sleep, which is what "sleep glasses" and "red lens glasses" searches refer to.
EMR-TEK publishes 400 to 450 nm filtration across the line; ask our team for the percentage blocked and lens tint on a specific frame if you need evening-strength blocking rather than daytime screen use. Blue light glasses are not a medical device and do not replace a prescription.
