Transcranial PBM
What a transcranial red light helmet does
Transcranial photobiomodulation delivers near infrared light through the scalp and skull. 1070 nm is used because it penetrates bone and tissue further than the 660 to 850 nm range used for skin and muscle, and it is the wavelength in the research Neuronic cites. The helmet holds an array of 1070 nm LEDs against the head at fixed positions, so each session delivers the same pattern to the same regions.
Published research on transcranial PBM covers cognitive performance, mood and recovery in small studies; it is an area of active investigation, not an established treatment, and these helmets are sold as wellness devices. We make no clinical claims for them. The brands publish the study list on their sites and we are happy to send it.
